This was going to be my advice, too.
I bought a trainer, and wound up giving it away because it was nothing but a waste of space, and a device I could hypothetically use like an egg slicer for my brain. If you think dark/cold/rain is bad, a trainer makes them seem pretty nice...

This is crazy.
Step 1: Buy a cheap inferior trainer.
Step 2: Hate using it.
Step 3: Stop using it because you hate using it.
Step 4: Never ride trainers again.
Step 1 is the problem. Maybe you would enjoy riding indoors if you rode a better trainer.
Let's apply this logic to other things in life, shall we:
Step 1: Buy a cheap inferior "steak" from Waffle House.
Step 2: Hate eating it.
Step 3: Stop eating it because you hate eating it.
Step 4: Never eat steak again.
or
Step 1: Buy a WalMart "road bike".
Step 2: Hate using it.
Step 3: Stop using it because you hate using it.
Step 4: Never ride a road bike again.
For the life of me, I also cannot stand riding a crap trainer either...but I enjoy riding my Kurt Kinetic Road Machine or my former TACX Satori.
