It came with cups to use a shimano crank and I ordered some for SRAM GXP. Very easy to install and no problems/noise yet (but only ~500 miles or so). I do have my concerns with the design since it all just slips together with tight tolerances, but time will tell. To me, the threaded BB's seem like there is less opportunity for issues.
Yup....all Tarmacs are BB30...except the Tarmac S-works which is PF30 like the Roubaix Sworks. I will go out on a limb and say the threaded BB is becoming endangered as much as I like it...and if Specialized releases the SL4 Roubaix next year as proposed by some, then it will likely be BB30 as well.
How do you like your new SL4? Reports are it is a whale of a great bike...bit softer in vertical flex compared to the SL3 Tarmac but mega stiff when standing on the pedals.
Cheers.
