I have 2011 Sorrentto that was given to me for Christmas. Love the bike, I like Diamondback mountain bikes.

Any way the bike is equipped with a Shimano Tourney, top pull, 31.8 & a Shimano EF-51 3 speed shifter. I can not seem to get the front shifter/derailer aligned or something.

When I go from 1st to 2nd the the chain goes from the smallest cog to the Largest cog(3rd). The trigger will not click anymore so the red indicator is showing 2nd, the bike jumps past 2nd strait into 3rd.

I can slightly squeeze the down shifter and it will go into second but will not return to 3rd. Is tight when you try to shift up.

I have gone threw the process outlined in the owners manual but do not appear to be getting it right some how.

Does anybody have any tips for how to get this thing to work correctly?
