Motobecane was an old respected name that was purchased and remarketed to outlet taiwanese frames that probably build for many other companies.

If it was an old enough Motobecane then it is probably a different company then current ownership.

Most of the budget factory street fixed will be built this way. Geometry will vary from track geometry to roadish.
