I can't speak to the quality of the pedals. They look like clones of the old Shimano SPD design, which means they could be as good as the 535's or as bad as the 505's. But what the hell, they're yours now, give 'em a go.

Only thing I'd recommend with the shoes is to buy in a store. Bike shoes are a pain in the arse for me, and I find fit varies even amongst the different models of shoe sold under one brand. Little is as bothersome as ill-fitting footwear!
