I hope some people post about dumb stuff that they have done, because it would make me feel a little better about something stupid that I did!

A couple weeks ago, I locked my bike to the porch rail with my trusty Kryptonite heavy-duty U-lock. When I went out an hour later to fetch it, I discovered that I had lost the only key. A couple weeks of frantic searching have failed to uncover the key. We disassembled the porch rail so the bike is free now, but everywhere I go, I have to drag along a 17 pound useless lock between my legs!

I don't think it was so stupid to lose the last key. What was stupid was continuing to use the lock when I had only one key, rather than using a different lock while I waited to receive another key from Kryptonite.
