Jeff, I have to say that I agree. In the grand scheme of things, rolling resistance is really quite a minor variable in the amount of energy it takes to propel a bicycle forward, but I also think that those who live in western Europe (where Schwalbe is located) don't have the same road/riding conditions as we do in North America and puncture protection is perhaps less important to the riders there.
