For the past three or four winters, I've been wearing
a wool neck gaiter as a hat, or as a big headband. It was too tight to be comfortable around my neck, so I tried to stretch it by wearing it around my head, and got to like it. Folded in half, the thing covers my ears, provides some warmth, wicks away the sweat, and all that, but the back is open, so I can vent and not overheat.
Yesterday I lost mine hiking on the mountain. And they've almost doubled in price. So I'd like to look at some other options.
What wool thing keeps your head and ears warm while you go up and down rolling hills on a cold winter day? Do you recommend it?
