maybe the glue thing comes from MTB crowd who use very low air pressure and can get tire creep? tire creep can damage the inflation valve.
I've never needed glue for my studded tires.
+1 - that's probably where the idea comes from. Mine stay in place no problem. Dont over think it, mount those heavy bastards up and get out there and feel the burn!
