I've sometimes inflated the tube until it's about 6' in diameter and several inches in width - that made the leak much easier to find.
Or - go ahead and use the 80mm stem - much better to have a tube with an 80mm stem that holds air than a tube with the right length that leaks. Edit: I see you did this - good. Now get some spare tubes with the valve length and type you prefer.
Or - pump up the current tube and go ride to the nearest store that'll sell you a tube. There must be a Target/X-Mart/etc. somewhere not too far away.
I wasn't expecting it to do anything. It was a spray bottle I had. Anyway I rubbed soap around the valve and patches--nothing. I pumped up to where I noticed a slight deformity and I didn't want to pump beyond that. Well after 12 hours, it goes from 120PSI to 60PSI. It's really slow.
Anyway anyone have any idea why those LBS tubes don't screw on well anymore? I have the Lezyne steel floor pump. I know I can replace the flip-thread chuck part. Why do the LBS tubes have threads that are flat on two side? The threads on my stock tubes don't do that.
