got robbed at gunpoint for my bike once.... right outside of a BART station, it was a revolver so i could see that all of the cylinders were empty, but i wasnt gonna take any chances on the barrel being empty to, so i just gave him the bike..... 52/16 gear ratio + eggbeater pedals + brakeless (at the time) + plus ~5'3" guy, who has obviously never ridden fg, on a 56cm frame fitted for a 6' guy = me watching him ditch the bike a few blocks up... paint was a little scratched, but im alive.
protip: your bike isn't worth your life.
that's definetly an unspoken advantage to riding clipless, especially with a pedal that doesn't have a huge surface area to pedal on. combine that with brakeless, and i think the common thief would find it too much of a headache and ditch it.
