I'm bumping this old thread because I just picked up a Cyclops frame/fork in need of some reasonably serious frame work. At some point in it's life a creative thinker stuffed a rag well into the seat tube for reasons unknown, possibly to protect the bottom bracket and it stayed there while the frame changed owners and finally revealed it's presence via worm tracks under the paint in the area of the bottle bosses leading to half a dozen scattered pinholes. It's in the shop as I write and the good news is the tube won't need replacing, but paint and decals will be lost. The bb shell has a fair amount of surface corrosion from missing paint and there are some small worm tracks on the front of the lower head tube lug. Luckily the paint color is canary yellow so I plan to have the spot repairs and paint done and build it so I can ride it while I'm searching for a set of original decals for possible future restoration. I'll post some pics tomorrow to prove it's all real. I'm stoked because I bartered for the frame and the repair/paint work should come in under $250 and hopefully have some photos of the repair work to share as well.
