Hah, this is inspiring; I'm in my 20s, and here in Boston bike-dates have become a normal thing, fortunately. For the few non-biker lady's I've dates, when asked why it didn't work out, all I had to say was "she was a walker" (walking/public transportation is the norm here in the city) and bike friends would understand completely.
Best to out yourself as a cyclist on the first date. You're wasting their time and yours if you pretend that you'll be happy in a vanilla transportation relationship, and it will only be more painful if you find yourself rejected later for your affinity for deviant travel behavior, strange clothing and expensive items made of metal, rubber and leather.
