Yeah, kinda what I figured. The ADs I see bringing that sort of money have campy rather than low end ST components. Not sure what the hell to make of that front rim. It kind of has a very old look to it, more like 50s than cheapo 80s. Never seen anything with the rough brake surface. I would guess that it eats brakes.
The waffle pattern brake surface was very common on nicer 60's steel wheels and was used on some chrome steel wheels well into the 70's. But you are right in thinking that this wheel seems to be older than the rest of the bike. The Rigida Chrolux is most likely a mid 60's wheel.
