Definitely consult with your doc and a PT specializing in rehabbing sports injuries. They might give you the greenlight to swim or do aqua/pool running. Luckily, I've never been injured to that extent, but friends tell me you can do intervals, lactate threshold, and long endurance workouts in the pool to maintain a decent level of fitness.
