I ride to enjoy the feeling and the feedback. I enjoy the feel of building the momentum in the wheels, turning them faster and faster. It is like when i was a weightlifter. It was just more fun to feel myself overcoming that resistance- There is a feedback that i get that i really love. With really light wheels, it just feels like their isn't anything there. You just dont get the same feedback. Maybe this is also why i also like steel over carbon frames.
My times on my routes arent any slower either. Granted the Alps arent in my neighborhood...
So- what sort of psychiatric counseling would you guys suggest?
If you're going to try and convince me not to buy that new set of light weight wheels that I've been considering, you're going to have to do better than that.
