And I don't know why some of you are getting so offended about the reduced interest in fixed-foot riding. The OP didn't mean "dying" as in nobody should use them anymore, just "dying" as in fading in popularity among the general population of offroad riders.

I also think there are way too many different styles of riding for anyone to say one is better than the other for even most purposes.
