Lindenwood did point to the real intent of my post. Clipless was brought out and even some here seem to think it the end all cure of power transfer and stability. It works for some, not all. I personally think it has lost a bit of its shine. OTOH, I'll put a pair of Eggbeaters on the Roadie for a couple of centuries this spring.

I got a pair of toeclips in the 70s on my Schwinn Varsity and just thought they were the schizz. Now I'm kinda liking the platforms I use and haven't fallen in, well since April. I'm a pragmatic person, its working for me.

As for what I wear, this time of year I look like a hockey goalie when I'm all kitted up in my stuff.

As for picking on Purist Roadies, CMON! Some, (not all) of those weanies need someone to help ground them in reality. I think that some of them wear eye shadow that matches their bar tape, and those are the guys!
