This has gotten ridiculous when it is simple. In most cases, well up in the 90 plus % range, fat equals lazy. Take a look at old photographs of men working at some business. They are all slim, very slim by today's standards. Remember back to your grade school days when you could count the number of fat kids in you class on one hand.

I walked by a construction site a few days ago. All the men were fat. They were mostly driving some type of machine to move materials, or dig a ditch or whatever. There was very little actual physical activity.

I live very near two different grade schools. One is private and one is public. Many fat kids in both schools. There is a bicycle rack at both schools. I normally see one bicycle at one school, and never see one at the other. Before school starts and at the end of the day there are hundreds of SUVs lined up. None of the kids walk.

Genetics is an excuse. I have a very bad back from a birth defect. I flunked the Army physical at age 18, went 4F. I was encouraged to go on some type of aid for physically handicapped. I learned to live with the problem and even today have strengthened it with bicycle riding. Even if there is a genetic "problem" it does not mean you must accept all results. A person could watch their diet a little harder like I had to learn to get around the back problem. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
