All cleaned up and (temporarily) a single speed. I'm getting ready to start building up my new Boulder Brevet which ties up any loose change I might have otherwise spent on tires; the original wheels that came with the Elswick need new rubber, so to save dollars I've swapped out a more recent (early 60's) single speed coaster brake wheelset and matching tires, and pulled the three speed gear for the time being. I've also added a ca. 1940's/early 50's rear rack, and in a moment of whimsy I hung these vintage Swiss military ammunition bags. A saddle from the sixties is mounted and I still need to add the chain; perhaps I'll get to pedal her around the block this coming weekend. More better pictures to come tomorrow when there's actual sunlight.
She's a surprisingly tall beast, and I feel like I'm really up in the air when I straddle this bike. But then I'm used to my road bikes, so that accounts for some of the contrast.
