Yeah, I think 1 maybe two short seasons would be enough. I believe that shows should end while they are on top as opposed to running themselves into the ground and literally jumping the shark.

It is synonymous with the phrase, "the beginning of the end." It also means and/or is often signified by a particular scene/episode/aspect of a show in which the writers use some type of "gimmick" in a desperate attempt to keep viewers' interest.
