I have read elsewhere that the Contour GPS unit is much harder on the battery. I have an earlier model Contour which lasts about two hours on the battery. The other aspect with the Contour is that it does not come with a waterproof case and by all accounts rattles more in its mounts.

If I was making a choice now I would go Go Pro out of these two.
