This morning's commute was extremely difficult and added about twenty minutes to the journey. The community trail was cratered with thousands of frozen footprints with a dusting of snow on top that caused my front wheel to dance side to side with every pedal stroke. A detour from the trail had to be made returning to the partially snow bare city streets with a slushy snow pile in the curb lane. A school bus forced me into this porridge slop at one point but I kept the bike in the vertical position, just barely. With temperatures at minus five I still managed to become quite sweaty by the time I reached work. The ride home may be difficult as well for the weather guessers are calling for more snow. I am ready for spring.
