Bikes: Trek Madon 4.5, Fausto Coppi Masciaghi

Thought it was quiet, i was still subscribed to the 2011 edition...

Over the Christmas vacation, I made a decision to do the complete commute at least once a week, it's a 46 mile round trip. I wanted a more appropriate bike for my Randoneurring rides as well as the commute, and found an '89 Bianchi Volpe at the end of the year.

All was great until the second or third trip where the temperature was around 26F and the wind was high and from the North, so I decided to take the train home. Half a mile from the station a car decided not to yield to me (he was at a stop sign, I wasn't) and cut across. He (60 year old man) got cited for this and not wearing corrective lenses.... Still waiting on the check from the insurance company. Apparently it's 20% my fault the guy hit me... No point fighting it over $40...

I have the bike back and rode in this morning. Beautiful weather, 38F average, nice views, a bit dark at 6.30 but I got my 23 miles in 1hr33. I managed to smuggle the bike into the office! I did have a smile when I went under 121 and saw it backed up for miles...as I cruised underneath it on the way to cut across the park!

I even had my laptop and charger ~10lb in my panniers..I normally leave this at the office..
