Bikes: 87 RockHopper,2008 Specialized Globe. Both upgraded to 9 speeds. 2019 Giant Explore E+3

Since the MAX "recommended" cassette is a 27 or 28, I know which way I'd go.
Even the 30T cog MIGHT be problematic.
