I was Campy's east coast service tech in that era. If memory serves they didn't start writing 9 speed until they needed to differentiate between 9s ans 10s, so that makes them post 2001. I know for a fact that in 2001 Record and Chorus "carb BB system was replaced with 9 speed or 10 speed on the right lever. But i can't remember what Veloces were screened before 2001, or if they were at all, so that makes me not 100% certain, just 99.9%.
