You're not supposed to take off the manufacturers lube, its the best you'll get
So even if the original lube is apparently petroleum based, using a "dry" teflon lube for subsequent lubrication is OKAY? That's what I'm trying to determine at this point. I would think that the two won't mix.

Don't have a bike stand, but I can improvise on that for a noise search. I was just looking for other Huret fashioned rider input, maybe some info similarities.

From the SRAM site, as apparently provided on new chains: "GLEITMO™ — biking's best chain lubricant — coats chain for superior protection against friction and dirt."
