i dont know if this helps you or not, but i'm running a 9 speed chain with a ta set up with 48/32 in the front, and a 9 speed shimano cassette in the rear. It shifts great with the exception of getting into the tiny cog. There is rubbing. I don't need it anyway so I set the limit screws to not shift into it. I'm running friction bar ends and suntour stuff in friction mode. My point tough is that there are no issues with the 9 speed chain and the TA. I once put a a 9 speed chain up to a 10 speed campy chain and I could see any difference either.
