Cosmic Carbone SL's are not full carbon clinchers from what I know (Atleast my set isnt). Unless you have a Cosmic Carbone Ultimate all the Cosmic Carbones are an aluminum rim with a carbon Fairing. In that case it doesn't really matter when it comes to tires, mounting them would pose no risk of damaging the carbon (Unless you are doing something VERY VERY wrong)

One experience that I have had that has been negative is trying to get my Michelin Krylion Carbons (Har har har) onto that rim. I have pinched sooo many tubes doing that.

I would guess you may have better luck with a tire that has a wire bead. I know my Krylions are kevlar and I don't know about the 4000s but I think it is also kevlar (could be wrong though)
