I think you're still missing the point. The discussion about the new FD has to do with increasing the usability of all gearing options without any chain rub, not shifting performance. Yes, my current set up with Rival FD and Rotor Q rings shifts fine but I do get chain rub. By having the FD cage angle itself as you shift it should eliminate any chain rub.
