It was harder than l'Etape, and harder than any organized ride I've ever done.
Moider! Anyone who teases riders with compacts or triples has never done this ride.
Great picture! You did a great time I think. I'm doing the Death Valley Double again in a few weeks. And do it again in the Fall!!! And I'm gonna do the508 in the vintage category. I need to find shoes with cleats. Probably double strap. the508 vintage has a few good rules but basically, 6 gears in the back, downtube shifters, frame need to be pre-1986 (steel of course), and shoes with cleats.
