As someone who worked for UPS for a number of years, I can say that I can count on one hand the number of bike boxes (used bikes) that did not have a wheel hub sticking out through the side. Reason? Inadequate packaging. I have no great fondness for that company, believe me, but people shouldn't just throw a bike in a box like they would throw paper ina trash bag and expect everything to be pristine after travelling hundred or thousands of miles.
