I must tell his batsh#t crazy story. You could not make up this stuff if you wanted to. I know probably most of you won't know any of the terms below so it might not make sense to you. Also it is so crazy it might not even be believable, but I swear on my bike that this happened tonight.
Me and a group of friends were standing outside a tapioca drink place where there happen to be a Subaru meet. We were talking about cars when this random dude in his mid-late 20s walks by us and asks us if anyone tracks their cars, probably assuming we are the owners of the Subaru's. He talks about track days on Laguna Seca, Thunder Hill, and Infineon. My friend sarcastically says "let's race for pinks." He asks my friend what he runs and my friend sarcastically answers "86 corolla." He tells us he has a Lotus Exige and that he lives 2 blocks away. He asks my friend to come with him to get the car and let my friend drive it. At this point the guy sounds super sketchy so we tell him to bring the car to where we are. He says okay and walks off to presumably go get the car. We think the dude is batsh#t crazy and don't really expect the guy to come back.
10 minutes later the guys pulls up around the corner with a murdered out Lotus Exige. Starts talking about how he basically runs it only on the track and stuff. He then offers two of my friends a ride. One declines, the second one he asks says yes.
My friend hops in and we see the car zip around a few of the blocks around us for like 5mins. About 5mins later my friend sends us a text saying they crashed about 6 blocks away. We run over to the site and see that the right-rear quarter of the car is basically totaled. They spun out and the backend hit a parked car on the side of the street. Both my friend and the driver were completely fine. I took a couple photos on my phone but the car is black and it's dark so you can't really see anything. But I ripped a piece of the fiberglass rear bumper off and took it as a souvenir.
This is the most eventful thing that I have witnessed/been a part of in a long long time.
