Seriously, an adage that's served me well in cycle-commuting is to never commute in my work clothes or work in my commuting clothes. In 25 years of cycle-commuting I've never worn a belt. Shorts, yes. Jeans? Yes. Early on. Once discovering the comfort of cycle specific clothing and closeouts that was it for street clothes on my bike(s).
