This really bugs me...

Instead of trying to make a simple, functional bike in a tight price range, department storte bikes get loaded up with a bunch of practically useless junk that imitates high end mountain bikes. Why do they need huge knobby tires, when they can't handle highly technical trails? Why put a stupid undamped fake suspension fork on, when a beefy rigid steel fork would do fine?
