Help. Geometry and Forks

OK, now ive narrowed my search down to two bikes, Im curious which one has the better specs. And given I buy the full bike, what fork would be good to exchange for the one thats already on there. Would 5 inches mess up their geometry?

The Bikes are the bottom line 03 enduro, and the bottom line 03 kona dawg. There is only a $100 difference between the two bikes 1599 and 1699 US. The enduro has a xt rear d, while the kona has an lx rear d. Im not too knowledgable about the other componentry, so thats why im asking you guys. Which bike has the better components for the money?

My next question is. Both bikes have low end forks. Spec. has a Marzocchi MX comp, and the Kona has a Marzocchi EXR. Like I said I would like a 5 inch travel fork, preferably adjustable travel, with good stiffness. I just want to replace the one on the bike with another from the shop. Im not looking for a top of the line fork, just something a bit better than the ones I mentioned. As I said before, would changing to a 5 inch travel fork mess up either of these bikes geometry?

Lastly, is the enduro capable of the same level of hits as the dawg?
