The only people I saw cycling there were Indian immigrants on old heavy clunkers on sidewalks. Looking at your video, seems to me Riyadh has quite a similar setup. So props to you for braving it. Maybe you stand out so much that people are really just dumb founded. In those old days, in a new developed place, no need for bikes when cars are low in numbers, gas prices are subsedized, however time and conditionas are changing, the years for bike commuting will come.
I would give credit to the people, while traffic is not organized over all, speeding , hard to enforce traffic rules in such big crowded cities, however, the people are so friendly to make cycling a real good experience. Check out my other videos about various interactions with the people!
