Also, I don't know the law in California, but in Florida, if you have two lanes going in the same direction, a cyclist is allowed to take one lane.
thats exactly the situation, i could have showed more video, but a few seconds more and you can see that the driver never crossed white lines to pass me.
when in doubt i try to take the lane, earlier before at a intersection two cars were turning right, but they got a little jammed up so i took the lane and went around the second car as being on a bike allowed me to do this. the car that gave me a little crap was behind me when i did it, they probably get a miffed that i took the lane.
generally i try to be good with drivers as i know some really hate cyclist, the only time i dont stop and a intersection is two signs in my neighborhood, and i can clearly see in both directions if a car is coming (not that it makes it right), if not i roll through them. that said i feel like i do a good job when cars are around, but maybe i was wrong in taking the lane at the intersection and it might have got the guys in the car going a bit. but i thought thats what i should do. unless im wrong (and tell me if im wrong). when in doubt take the lane and slow down, its kinda what they teach for motorcycles on the freeway.
