I've noticed in many places, that certain brands tend to be carried by the same LBS. Like these:
-Trek and Cannondale (funny in my book because they're so competitive with each other)
-Specialized and Giant
-Masi and Bianchi (same aesthetics in many ways)
-Scott and Felt
-Fuji and Jamis

None of these are of the same parent company.
