The World Voyageur was similar, but was marketed under the "World" brand instead of being sold as a Schwinn since the company (Schwinn) didn't know how a Japanese made bike branded as a Schwinn would be received by the American market. The World Voyageur was very well received, so the next year it became a Schwinn model, the Voyageur II.
