Nice job! I love these old EF Schwinns. The Continental is especially nice because it does not have the crummy flat fork blades. I think the Continental might have been the highest electro-forged model.
- Use a light lubricant, like triflow, on all of the pivot points. That goes for the derailleurs and even the brake calipers. You can add a couple drops of triflow into the cable housings as well.
- I wouldn't expect great shifting performance from those old French freewheels. If you look at the teeth on the cogs, you will notice that they are all flat. Swapping the freewheel with something like a Shimano HG would make a big difference and not ruin the classic looks of the bike. Anything with twisted and shaped teeth will make a difference. Not sure what chain you are using, but a modern chain, like a SRAM PC-850 or KMC Z-chain could also be beneficial.
