Bikes: LOOK 595 & Cannondale CAAD9

SRAM front shifting is hit or miss, even with a proper setup that follows SRAM's instructions exactly. I had a 2011 Cervelo R3 that had great front shifting with a full Rival group. My Red equipped Look 595 shifted like ****. I replaced the FD with a Force FD and it still shifted like ****. The chain would either hesitate too much before popping up to the big ring or it would throw the chain over the big ring to the right. Even the smallest adjustments to the high limit screw couldn't get it to that sweet spot. I ended up replacing the Force FD with an Ultegra 6700 FD and it worked great. My girlfriend's Rival equipped Litespeed M1 also has poor front shifting.

I recently replaced the Red group on my 595 with 2012 Record 11-speed and it shifts unbelievably well. Right on par with Shimano 6700/7900 front shifting. I didn't even have to adjust the Record FD after the initial installation. Just followed Campagnolo's instructions and it worked perfectly right out of the gate. I can even shift under moderate load with no skipping or grinding, just like Shimano. I wouldn't even dare try this with a SRAM group.

I'm glad you are happy with your front shifting performance, but it's not always that simple for everyone else.
