I know this has been discussed here. But, I want to throw out a similar question...

I'm looking for a touring bike. This is for a planned trip down the West coast next year, as well as my regular bike riding. Which consists of 20-30 mile rides 3-4 times a week. I have found the following bikes in my price range (under $1200 or so):
Trek 520
Cannondale T800
Fuji Touring

I like the Trek, but not sure I like bar-end shifters (I have them now on my old bike). I've read comments here that the Cannondale is stiff when not loaded. I know nothing of the Fuji, but my bike dealer swears it's a great deal. Any comments here???
