The video quotes a statistic that communities with more cyclists are safer for all road users. I think communities need to reach a critical mass where enough cyclists on the road "teaches" the drivers to be more aware. Before that critical mass is reached, however, riding on major roads remains so dangerous.

I'm afraid that my husband's tragedy has taken my children and I off the roads as serious cyclists out of pure fear. My community has not reached that critical mass yet.
