I'm not denying that a new wheelset can change the feel of a bike - it certainly can. What I'm sceptical about is whether you will see any measurable, real world performance improvement. I very much doubt it. Of course, having nice stuff makes you want to ride more, which WILL make you faster - it can be a great motivator.

If you were a time triallist and you went from box sections to 80mm carbons you'd probably notice the handful of seconds it knocked off your time but for JRA I doubt there'll be a real world difference, especially as the OP is talking about going from an entry-level wheelset to a slightly lighter entry-level wheelset.

Also:

The sealed bearings make a world of difference as well.
Really? Based on what, exactly?

I'm not hating - hell, I currently have two carbon wheelsets which I really don't need - but if you attribute magic qualities to bike components expect people to argue. Also, it makes you a sound a little like this guy.
