From: 6 miles inland from the coast of Sussex, in the South East of England

Bikes: Dale MT2000. Bianchi FS920 Kona Explosif. Giant TCR C. Boreas Ignis. Pinarello Fp Uno.

Most of the falls I have had were offroad on the mountain bike and although still being clipped in when finding Terra-Firma, they cannot be classed as a Tombay. However I did a 100 mile ride in 94 and first time on Clipless. Back up vehicle met us every hour or so when we crossed a road and I got to about hour 5 out of 12 and stopped and just went straight over. Didn't even think about unclipping so no panic and no damage and once again no Tombay. Finished the ride and got off the bike and met our backup crew and then cycled over to the car. Don't know if it was weak legs- cleats bunged up with Mud or bad technique. Only rode 20 yards but the messiest Tombay going. Only place the car could park was off the hardstanding and it was wet- and muddy. Put it this way- We loaded the bikes as quick as possible before the owner of the adjacent car came back and insisted we wash his car.
