You can get a mini-group or sometimes, a whole group.
I picked up brand new Dura-Ace 7800 Shifers for $135. on CL.

(minus crank/brakes)

I'd add a superior Ultegra SL cransket for $150 to that group + a superior set of Planet-X Brakes for $125.
You'd save a good 1/2 lb and it'll be just over a very cheap full 105 group (which is about $600).

Full 105 Group: $610

Interesting. What makes the Ultegra SL crankset and Planet-X brakes better than the 105 stuff, vs. the extra cost over the 105 parts?
