I would powder coat it gray, kind of a battleship gray, with the proper PEUGEOT decals. Then do a retro roadie build with brifters. Sort of a parallel universe where carbon never took over and Peugeot stayed a bike maker. And no worries about the shifter bosses then. If you have lots of derailleur bikes already, then maybe a Shimano Alfine 8 speed IGH, someone makes a road brifter for it.
