Best response? Follow your gut.

Traffic law started out as limiting certain actions that have potential in causing harm. We are now at a point where our law makers focus on the action and not the harm. Case in point speeding fines go up as the speed increases but no change (generally) in fines if no crash, in a crash, injury or fatality. A case in MoCo where a driver doing 45 in a 25 zone killed a boy crossing the street. The boy was found at fault for failing to yeild and the driver had to pay a speeding ticket, the same amount if he just got caught in a speed trap.
