Thanks for the input. I knew most people would say repair or ditch it but don't ride it, but it's easier to say than do when it comes to a bike your ride and love everyday without thinking about it. The frame already cracked due to rust at the same point on the chainstay so my welder friend and I inserted a rod into the tubing then welded the rod into place. The new crack is right where the rod ends. So the rod seems to be stressing the tubing further. I guess I was mostly wondering if the frame would hold together even if that tubing cracked, like post #8. But I guess it's time to ditch the frame... Time to go to my room and cry for the rest of the night.
